Data Management Service

Data management services can be divided into many buckets, Such as: Data management services for Servers

Our data governance on-premises and cloud environments for servers call for meaningful insights into Security, Process, Monitoring, and structure:

Security

Our data management offerings can look like making sure that all permissions are audited. If there are complicated amounts of permission, how do we create a process to manage the business decisions on who gets what permissions on what files?

We might even deploy software that helps us manage data permissions so that we can generate a wide array of reports on what permissions have changed and when they have changed, and who made those changes.

Process

Most companies want us to help them take all their different systems & make decision-making around how we deal with Archived data and current working data. We need to make sure that file limits are set, for example. We enforce file amounts for master data management which will affect the end-user experience.

We ensure that data areas on file servers or SharePoint will not get filled up by accident & hurt the customer data management service.

Monitoring

By watching out for patterns in file behavior, we can get a lot of information. We may want a centralized view of all the data management services as to where it’s flowing.

We may want to view the data that is leaving the network and create data management rules that block its ability to leave the network. This sometimes involves data security management as a service using encryption within the solution.

Backup

We do performance-tuning backups as per the customer’s desired disaster recovery plan. Some clients need data management to include only having data on-premises. Most clients enjoy having backup data storage in the cloud as well as data storage locally.

We avoid human error by not involving the need for human interaction in all our backup solutions. Previously when we had to reply to humans for backup, they might have forgotten to trade out the tape drive or mistreated the backups when handling them.

Now we do not need to have these types of variables. With backups for our customers, we do data discovery and gain insights on which drives need to be backed up and have them able to be restored for easy access.

7 Smart Home Life Hacks from Crown’s CEO

Hardware:

We choose Dell, Lenovo, and Supermicro for our physical server-based data management services on servers. We use only top-tier and warrantable commercial-grade products for our object storage data in servers.

We ensure data quality with our data management team by implementing purposeful Raid arrays on our servers. The data architecture of our RAID is key to business needs. Business needs come first, then we apply the technology, and this has always been our formula for customer data management services.

We consider Raid 10 when we need redundancy and speed. We deploy RAID 5 when the customer experience does not need to be fast and at a slower operational efficiency. Most clients have multiple platforms for their data, such as NAS, Services in the cloud, File servers other data sources.

We consider all of these within our centralized view of the customer to create a business with high-quality data management services performed by our it teams.

Crown’s Technology to be Thankful for

Data management solutions for NAS devices data warehouse

NAS appliances are essential to us in delivering our data management solution to our customers. Every client of ours has a NAS that we use within our data management process. We choose Synology NAS solutions for our data management needs.

We choose NAS devices for their ability to house data service reliably from multiple platforms on the on-premises network. We call our NASs big data because they store data from multiple sources on a client network. We will backup images of servers and imagines 0f workstations.

Data management solutions for SAN data warehouses

We use SANs in our data management services for clients that require managing data with a more flexible distribution of data security.

SANs have the redundancy for customers that need data management services at the top tier possible that data management services be performed. Purchasing a SAN can lower costs to data management because the speed of the SANs service is much greater than that of a file server or NAS delivering data.

Data on SANs is also the choice of many businesses that need flexibility for data migration. If you want to migrate one VM to another VM, you can have massive data protection within the sane that enables us to deliver best-in-class services to our customer base.

Data management for us also becomes easier because the most secure place of data can be found on a SAN device.

We often have redundant SANs that improve data quality to the highest level of data security. Customers that want their data secure at the highest level will choose our SANs data management solution.

Cloud Data management services

Vendors we choose for cloud data vary in cost. Their service ranges from charging for downloads and uploads to unlimited. They all take on different data models in the cloud. Some less expensive big data cloud providers are slower but allow incredible amounts of data to be uploaded.

We choose, for example, wasabi backup when we need a large amount of data in the cloud, and we do not care how fast it gets there or how slow it comes out. We just need to know that we can retrieve it if need be.

Then we choose Azure or Amazon cloud service if we need data to be extremely quick and almost as fast as if it were on a local NAS device. Some vendors, such as Lucid Link, give data service a different twist because they specialize in media, for example.

Lucid links data management services take media service in the cloud to another level. Legacy systems that try to compete with lucidlink, such as Dropbox and Egnyte, cannot compare services because Lucid Link service is as such.

You do not have to download the whole file if you have a 2-hour film and only need to edit the middle part and only 5 minutes worth. You simply can edit the file parts in the middle, and it will treat it the five minutes like you had the entire file already downloaded. This is truly a service that Media teams need to consider when choosing a data management solution for their data marts.

However, database queries and putting databases on Lucid link would not be advisable, so it’s important to know that a business like Lucid link is good for media and not database services.

We had another project that we had for equipment monitoring, and our previous IT company started with them, and then we brought Crown in it, and so you had to work with that company earlier also with the equipment monitoring company, and it just went so smoothly, and everything was up and running in no time, and it was just it was perfect.

Data management services for Workstations

One drive- For data management on workstations, smart devices, and more. It’s so nice to have all your data management from multiple platforms and disparate data sources gain the ability to create one system to unify them all.

One drive takes all your data from your workstations, your mobile devices, and other smart devices such as MacBooks and/or Ipads. It creates one centralized place for all your software downloads, Desktop, documents, and other customer data. Data management as a service with all office 365 products is a breeze because the data management is all within the office 365 single platform.

You can create DLP safety regulations within your companies data management as a service. It tracks certain patterns within your data to ensure your compliance requirements are met. Machine learning within the office 365 platform makes it easy to securely deploy the One drive software.

One drive also has a database on the backend that creates the files on-demand service and keeps track of which files should be on-premises

File redirection via group policy:

Similar to how One drive manages business data, we deploy group policy within the Active Directory database to manage desktops, documents, and other chosen areas. The redirected business data goes to a chosen folder on the companies service, and the group policy object runs on the wings of the active directory services.

Data analytics on data assets

We use certain tools to ensure we can generate reports on the folder’s data size and give deep analytics. For example, let’s say we want to know what size 20 folders are when a given folder data set is viewed.

We use TreeSize in some cases to give us analytics we need to determine the data sizes of each of the folders. We can scan the whole drive for the amount of data on it.

Sometimes windirstat is used to give data analytics similar to treesize. We enjoy using both of this software to take the role of customer data scientists. We examine all areas of customers’ data and make sure to deliver our data management as a service to its fullest capability.

Business data management as a service is a discussion we have will all clients and service that we perform on every business we service. Business success depends on how well we can manage client’s data, and we make this a leading priority to accomplish this in a best-in-class and professional way.,
